Why are the number of characters and bytes different?
Character count refers to the number of characters, and bytes refers to the encoded data size. This tool counts Unicode code points and UTF-8 bytes with TextEncoder. A Korean syllable usually takes 3 bytes and an English ASCII character takes 1 byte. An emoji that appears as one on screen may be made up of multiple code points.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are line breaks included in the character count?
Values that include spaces also include line breaks. The whitespace exclusion value removes characters that JavaScript recognizes as whitespace, such as spaces, tabs, and line breaks.
Why are the numbers different from the recruitment site?
Results will vary depending on whether you count UTF-16 units, code points, on-screen characters, or other encodings. Check against the markings on the final submission site.
Is the number of words the number of Korean morphemes?
No. The number of items divided by one or more spaces after removing leading and trailing spaces. It is close to the number of words based on spacing.
